Best wishes to you all. More artwork will come soon. The last two months of the year are always a pain. Be sure too look for me at the Jack of All Trades Flea market in Oakland on January 10th and my last Treasure Island Flea event (for a while at least) on January 24th and 25th 2015.

At the Flea Market I was asked if any of my prints are available as a T-Shirt. It sure sucked to say no. A few days ago, a friend told me about this website called TeePublic that allows artists to post any artwork and they will make it into a T-shirt for sale to the public. So I created an account and so far, I have three T-Shirts available. Well this was one tiring and emotional weekend, but overall I would call it a success. I made only a few sales on Saturday (Stupid Rain), but on Sunday I sold calendars all day. The most popular calendar by far was the Travel tags. Even though not every piece of mine got a sale, lots and lots of people came by the booth and pointed out their favorites. "Wow that's cool!" and "oh that is so creative" is just as good as getting a sale to me (though a sale is extra good). Thank you to everyone who stopped by to say hello and check me out. And a very special thanks to those of you who purchased a calendar. You are part of a small but growing fan base and I hope to keep making cool art for you in the years to come. Hello all. I've decided to take my art to the streets as this year closes. My first appearance will be at the Treasure Island Flea on October 25th and 26th, 2014. My next appearance will be at the Jack of All Trades event at Jack London Square in Oakland. That will be on November 8, 2014. The last event will be another two-day stint at the Treasure Island Flea on November 29th and 30th. I'll be selling the calendars I've been working on all year, plus a few new pieces I will be debuting at these events. I won;t post them here until the year is over. Hello all. I know it's been a while since my last post, but trust me, I've been very busy. If you've been following this site, you know that I produce a calendar featuring my artwork that I give out to my family and friends every year. This year I've decided to produce some prints for sale online. This way, more people can see what I'm up to. To all of you who have been following me and my postings, please take a minute or two and check out my store at Society6.com. As of this posting, I have five calendars for sale, but there will be more artwork to come before the end of the year. I'll be posting them as they are completed, so check regularly. March For this series, this is actually the first picture I started on. I got the idea from looking at Edward Hopper's "Night Windows" and said : I want to make a calendar series with pictures like that! At this point in time, I hadn't drawn anything for a few months (Stress related. Sensitive artist and all that).  When you compare this to what ended up in the series, it's like night and day. You can tell here that my skills need work. I had no idea what to do with the lighting, the colors are hideous, and the person is drawn horribly. I like to put this next to the finished one to see what a difference practice makes. Does this look familiar? I ended up using this as the image for the cover, but it actually started out as the image for March.  After the abysmal first attempt for March, I decided to do the pictures in order. January I started this one not really knowing how the series would come together. I envisioned a series of pictures with "Hopper-esque" influences but that's about it. I remember spending too much time worrying about the staging of this scene and what elements should go in it. I spent a great deal of time adding details to the buildings and the train, then went to bed. The next morning, I looked at the whole piece again and hated it. I still gave it another shot and added people to the scene but I ultimately gave up on it. I didn't even bother adding details to the sky. I really like this one. With the movement of the background and the cool train in the forefront, I think it's a really cool image on its own. But in the calendar, not so much. After I found my rhythm and I finished more pictures in the series, this one looked a bit out of place. It has an overall different feel than the rest of the series, so I took it out and did a whole new one...
